Today’s concert kicks off the 2026 Take It Outside Concert Series which is sponsored by Navigant Credit Union and held in back of Blackstone River Theatre from 4-5 p.m.; chairs are provided or you can bring your own. In the event of rain or very high temps/humidity in the forecast, the concert moves inside. Tickets are also available at the gate!
The Dashing Rock Trio, based on the isle of Nahant in Boston Harbor, explores the music of the Celtic nations and beyond with varied instrumentation, including fiddle, nyckelharpa, flute, whistle, guitar, accordion, Scottish smallpipes and voice. Elizabeth Ketudat, Dave Cabral, and Sarah MacConduibh have performed together for decades in multiple ensembles. They bring their deep friendship and experience to Dashing Rock’s unique sound, a blend of tradition with fresh interpretations. Betsy Ketudat plays the fiddle, Hardanger fiddle and nyckelharpa with Dashing Rock. She was a member of Fellswater, featured violin soloist at the Yshalle Tattoo in Basel, Switzerland, and has performed in the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, with Fellswater. Sarah MacConduibh has been playing fife, whistle and flute for decades, and is one of the USA’s premier fifers. She was a fifer with the Middlesex County Volunteers Fifes & Drums (MCV) for nearly 40 years and numerous international performance tours including the Edinburgh Military Tattoo and Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo. She was a member of Fellswater and has added accordion when she performs with Dashing Rock. Dave Cabral is a versatile musician who performs throughout the greater Boston area as a chamber, orchestral and pit musician. He attended the Boston Conservatory of Music as a viola performance major, but is equally comfortable on cello and the fiddle. Also a past member of Fellswater, Dave sings and plays guitar, fiddle and Scottish smallpipes with Dashing Rock.
