Adam Hendey is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and composer living in Boston. A powerhouse accompanist with a backseat-driving style, Adam has collaborated and performed with many of traditional music’s brightest stars including Maura Shawn Scanlin, Elias Alexander, Hanneke Cassel, and Alasdair Fraser. He was first seen at Blackstone River Theatre accompanying Mari Black this past May. Taking center stage tonight, he’ll lead his own ensemble featuring vocalist Erin Shea Hogan, cellist Brendan Hearn, and fiddler Elias Cardoso. Together the group perform stunning arrangements of traditional and contemporary Celtic music, featuring material from Hendey’s newly-released solo album “Illuminate.” Four voices in harmony, fiddle, cello, and clockwork counterpoints of guitars will draw listeners into an intimate sound world where the magic of old-world traditional music comes to life alongside songs and stories from New England’s vibrant folk music community. Adam is a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with a Master’s degree in Traditional Music. In addition to performing, Adam is also a prolific teacher and has taught at Alasdair Fraser’s Sierra Fiddle Camp, the Acadia Festival of Traditional Music and Dance, and the Passim School of Music. Don’t miss this dynamic new band in their Blackstone River Theatre debut!
