We are thrilled for the return of vocalist Cathie Ryan to our stage as she celebrates “An Irish Christmas” with John Doyle and Mick McAuley. Cathie and John are longtime friends and have shared decades of musical collaboration, creating arrangements for many of her studio recordings, and touring as a duo throughout Europe. “An Irish Christmas” promises a magical evening of songs, stories, and memories of Christmastime in Ireland shared by three of Irish music’s most beloved and highly regarded performers. John and Mick have been playing music together on the international stage for over 22 years. As multi-instrumentalist members of Irish-American supergroup Solas, they combined to create part of the group’s unmistakeable early sound which garnered critical worldwide acclaim. Over the last 8 years, Doyle and McAuley have toured extensively as a duo all over Europe and the U.S. Doyle’s powerhouse rhythmic guitar sound along with McAuley’s virtuosic instrumental skills make for driving tune sets, interspersed with the beautifully crafted original songs of these two skilled songwriters. Individually, John and Mick have played and recorded with some of the most respected musical artists in the world and are, themselves, among the most highly regarded musicians in the Irish folk world. After Solas, John Doyle has toured and recorded with some of the great artists of the Folk, Celtic and Bluegrass worlds – as music director for folk icon Joan Baez, guitarist for Mary Chapin Carpenter, Tim O’ Brien, Kate Rusby, and many more. Mick McAuley has played with music superstar Sting for several years, has made several solo albums, and has appeared with artists such as Mick Moloney, Karan Casey, and Mary Chapin Carpenter.
